The Difference you make

Don't judge a situation until you've been in it
Take into account the circumstances
Sometimes things are done out of convenience
See the moments take your chances
Live for the moment
Rock the world till it shakes
Go out and own it
What a difference it makes
Let you living through it be
The reason you use
Work on continuity
Don't let your plug fuse
Take the chances
But stay safe
And as evil dances
Take note of the difference you make

Volunteering

People can enjoy volunteering
If only to get out
Social exclusion could be something they are fearing
It gives them a chance to set out
A timetable and get into a routine
Really it is time we are investing
Some might say "I don't know what you mean"
Well I've met many people I find interesting
See it extends
Social opportunity
Helps you make various types of friends
Within the community
Some might think forget it
As they've tried it and their popularity hasn't soared
To an extent it can give you what you let it
Would you rather sit at home bored?
Volunteering can work in stages
On each person the influence will show
I've done it for ages
And although
I've not earned
On the money side
In other ways I've learned
I like to think I can see the funny side
I feel like part of the staff
Although I don't go out for a smoke
I can still share a laugh
And a joke
Although I'm not a boss
Some say I'm just a name on file
I don't think I'm at a loss
Volunteering is worthwhile

Strength

When words are twisted
Problems can start
But it's worthwhile to risk it
Play your part
The end don't think that is it
You have greatness to fetch
People can be like elastic
Still there is only so far they can stretch
Each stretch we can test it
Certain words begin to chafe
When I'm with you I feel invested
Money in the safe

It is bad when you see the past is waiting
When you start to loose charge
It really is exasperating
That is when the story starts
I don't like having the blues
Try to keep it level
Feeling things after you choose
Things can begin to dishevel
Grab what you can reach
Your feelings at length
Get up and do your speech
That will remain your strength

Thanks JoAnne McKay

We never went into the operation
With no plan
But from Write Connections we are saying
A huge thanks JoAnne
The reception
You gave us was warm
The books you gave us we kept them
And are keen to work on form
You are down to earth, exciting
Gave us your book in rhyme
Helping us with our writing
It was nice that you took the time
You kept a smile
As you got on with your business
I hope you see it as worthwhile
Tanks very much for your visit
